Jax is the lead artist and creator of Artistry by Jax. The company began in 2013 shortly after when Jaclyn moved to Vancouver, BC from Parksville, Vancouver Island. She began to pursue her passion for artistry at New Image College of Fine Arts in Vancouver, BC. Here she was able to work with many elite makeup artists and began working on photo shoots and film sets before getting her full certification. Throughout her experience at New Image she fell in love with all aspects of makeup; from taking care of your skin through proper routines, to creating glamorous beauty makeup applications and constructing complex special effects looks. By the time Jax had graduated in June 2014 she was well on her way to a successful career as a freelance makeup artist and cosmetician.
